...who requested a drabble of Sam in Valinor after Rose died:


It’s been more than good to see Frodo again, to see him happy as I’d never seen him--no, not even when he first come to Bag End just a young tween, for then he already had that sadness about him, from losing his folks so young. And I didn’t know how much I had missed old Gandalf till I seen him once more, by Frodo’s side. And it’s a wonder to see Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel again, who say they are my friends. Imagine, me, Sam Gamgee friends with the likes of them.

But I still miss my Rose.

Sad and sweet! It`s hard to imagine how it would be for Sam (or Frodo for that amtter) to come to Valinor, I think, but he would miss his Rose. :)

How could he help but miss her? But he knows at least that he will see her again someday beyond the circles of the world.

But I still miss my Rose.</i. Poor Sam, it seems he's a bit torn in two again. But I know he'll find his own healing here, just as he's seen in Frodo and his other friends. This is a lovely little moment. :)

Hm, I don't know what happened to the thoughts I put in that comment. They seem to have been eaten, but there was more than just that quote. I think it went something along the lines of,

Poor Sam, it seems he's a bit torn in two again, missing his Rose even as he's rejoicing to see Frodo looking so thoroughly healed. But seeing Frodo looking so well gives the promise that Sam is going to heal also. Very lovely. :)

I'm so glad you got what I was aiming for. I think Sam *is* still going to miss his Rose, but over time, it will no longer be a painful missing, as he looks forward to seeing her again beyond the circles of Arda.

Wow! :) I like this a lot! Sam's wonder at being friend's with elves was so in character, his happiness to see Frodo happy...^_^

Yes, I think that as Frodo's healing progressed, it would even reach back to those hurts that pre-dated his possession of the Ring, like the loss of his parents. And Sam is always amazed that the "Great" ones want to be friends with him.
