Most years for Halloween I grab some of my SCA garb. Quick, easy, there, and usually impressive to the trick or treaters. This year, I decided to do something a little bit more whimsical. I decided to dress up as...

TA-DAH!!

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!

Spring Forward!
Halloween 09--me

Fall Back!
Halloween 09-- me

*grin* It was funny how many people figured it out-- and how many *asked* "What are you?"

I was on my own with the trick or treaters this year. The DH is at a seminar, and the DS had to work. Passed out loads of candy, ate more of it than I should have, and got some knitting done while I sat on the porch. I'm really tired, but no time to rest yet. There is both a bake sale AND a potluck at church tomorrow, so I have some cooking and baking to do. And I'm in charge of setting up the potluck.

I hope everyone who celebrates it had a Happy Halloween!!

LOL!! That's brilliant! I like clever costumes like that.

Ooh, a church potluck. Those are so good. Hope it goes well and you have plenty of help setting it up.

Oh, marvelous! Very clever...my husband came over just now and saw it and chuckled.

Trick-or-treaters don't really come to our house - it's set back from the street and a lot of people go right by it. Sigh. But daughter and her father went out to a nearby street where all the old Victorian houses were decorated and there were hundreds of kids out...

That is a great costume! I love the leaves and flowers -- and the pumpkin earrings.

That is soooooo clever! That's very inventive. In fact you have just topped the most inventive costume that I've seen this year.
One of our trick or treaters this year was dressed up as a subway sandwich. I was impressed because it was a very good looking sandwich complete with wrapper.

Yours beats that one as far as I'm concerned. Get idea and very well done too.

That is great, and so perfect for this weekend.:)

I would love to dress up to pass out candy, but it is usually uncomfortably cold if you're going to be outside. Last night was in the 40's with a gusty wind. I had gloves on. I sit outside the whole time. I can't risk letting Pippin or Ginger slip out the door. Pippin especially would be at risk. She's totally black so she wouldn't be safe outside on Halloween.

How very clever! :) I wore my "elf" dress--a long flowing ankle-length grey jersey gown with self-fabric hip belt and low scooped neckline. It makes me look tall and skinny! LOL! Thanks for sharing your picture.
