Bilbo looked out at the view before him; the air was so clear. He had not seen anything with such clarity ever before. The shores of Tol Eressea drew near, the mountain standing high above, and he could see the top, with no wreathing of cloud, though it reached higher than any mountain he ever had seen.

He looked at Frodo, the wind in his dark curls. There was a touch of sun on his pale cheeks, and a look of wonder in his blue eyes-- even here bluer than the sky-- as he grinned.

His lad’s healing had begun.

Oooooh! I love "seeing" Valinor (and Frodo) through Bilbo's eyes.

I think that after the first thrilling sight, Frodo would have been first on Bilbo's mind...

Oh, how sweet. I love the promise in this, that Frodo *will* recover and be whole again, and how much that means to Bilbo. :)

I think even the sight of the white shores would be enough to help Frodo realize the adventure before him, and I think the chance for reflection during the voyage would mean the process had already begun.
