I just had snow ice cream for the first time in my life!

Oh! It is SO good!

8 cups fresh clean snow
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Stir together and eat immediately.

Ahhh!

:)

This reminds me that in Trinidad, they always served snowcones with sweetened condensed milk. It was so yummy!

Oh, that takes me back to my childhood! My mom made that for us once after a huge blizzard.

Oooooh, never done that before!!

I'll have to share that with my daughter and sister... they live in snow country.

What size can sweetened condensed milk?

I've never heard of that but we just happen to have both fresh snow and vanilla and a can of sweetened condensed milk, so hubby and I threw it together and wow...that is *rich*. Almost too rich... I wonder if I used too big a can!

I think I need a pickle. LOL

Mama used to make that for us when it snowed. It really does taste so good.

Sounds fabulous. We made it as kids but I don't think we knew enough to put in the milk ... I think we just used the snow, vanilla and a little sugar. I think I can see the benefits of your recipe :-)

Sugar-on-snow is supposed to be great, too, if you don't mind the high price of maple syrup...

Unfortunately (despite having to deal with snow every single year, and this one especially) my snow-eating experiments never went beyond making snow fruits and then eating them. And now it's all too nasty to even try that--although with all the melting and refreezing, I can now walk on top of all of it better than an elf!

Yum. I remember my mom telling me a story about snow cream when I was little. I never knew it REALLY existed, though.

Hobbits would really enjoy snow cream! :)
