Do we watch Olympic figure skating...or the Westminster Dog Show?

If we're voting, the dog show. Love the dog show. (They have sheep dogs in the working group.)

Dog show. They have 3 brand new breeds! I'm wishing I had cable and could watch it. And that I had a free evening, LOL.

Well, brand new to the AKC - they are actually old and honored breeds in their relative countries.

I love the dog shows. My son got me hooked on them a few years back and I always try to watch at least some of the contest even if I don't see all of the groups.

I just can't get interested in the Olympics. I have no idea why but it never has appealed to me. I just get annoyed because all of my favorite shows are repeats during the Olympics.

The dog show won in my house. And two of my breeds did very well- a whippet won the Hound Group and a Deerhound was third. :)))

I'd tape the skating, personally. Then you can skip the babbling commentators whenever you feel like it and get to the good stuff... :)

I've found myself muting the commentary this year, and I've never felt the need to do that before.

It does not have to be said that I'd go for the dog show. :D I only wish I could see enough to know what the puppies were doing and what they looked like, the wittle cuties!

hee. If I had a working t.v., I'd say the figure skating, but...but...I think I'm outvoted here, lol! :D

I only get the choice of skating, but I'd choose it in case as I'm a cat person!

I wouldn't know, lol. Most of the olympics are too late at night for me, or I watch the biathlon or other Nordic ski categories. I can understand why you ask the difference though. :)

I'd choose the figure skating myself, although I don't think we would have had the dog show up here anyways. :)

That was my question for last night. Hubby's answer was to watch three more episodes of Babylon 5. (We just completed getting the series on DVD and are working our way through from beginning to end.) Whenever he left to go out for a smoke I'd flip over to TV and see what was happening. What did you end up watching?

Well, I picked the dog show, but that was just me. ;)

Luckily, I don't have cable and so I didn't have to make the choice. I do miss seeing Westminster; and now that USA network doesn't make the videos/dvds of the show anymore; I never will see the entire show. Can't watch the videos on the Westminster Kennel Club website either; since I'm stuck in dial-up...Sob.

But I did follow the show as best I could via the Westminster KC site's updates. Sadie the Scottie bitch was the favorite; she'd taken BIS (Best in Show) at the Eukanuba and National shows; and many other shows too. Sometimes the favorite wins at Westminster; and sometimes not. (Last year, when Stump the senior citizen Sussex Spaniel won, was a glorious upset - I wish I could have that on dvd...)

Next year, if I still have no cable access; I must try to get someone to record the show on dvd for me; if that is still possible with today's technology. I have Westminster on dvd or video going back over ten years; and have attended the show several times.

So I watched the hunky young men bounce and glide across the ice in those form-fitting outfits. Big sacrifice. I have a huge crush on Evan Lycachek; if only he'd de-grease his hair...I imagine that Plushenko will get the gold tomorrow night; since he is Master of the Quad; but I hope Lysachek gets a silver. Johnny Weir is far more appealing skating than talking...
