We can haz broccoli!

I steamed it until it was just soft enough. The DH said it was the best broccoli he had ever eaten. *grin* There were also some nice green onions for the salad!

Ooh, I'm jealous. I'm usually not a big fan of broccoli, but when it's actually cooked properly and served with a nice cheese sauce (the real stuff, white sauce with sharp cheddar shredded in) it's divine.

And when they're fresh from a garden sometimes I can even manage to like tomatoes, so I imagine garden broccoli has got to be amazing.

We like our broccoli soft, but not mushy. I usually do like it with cheese sauce, but often like it as well with hollandaise, or even a little freshly-squeezed lemon juice. But THIS broccoli was so good I didn't add anything to it but a tiny sprinkle of salt.

There is NOTHING like a home-grown tomato! My DH is no fan of tomatoes, either-- unless they are home-grown.

I am hoping to have a lot of those this year. *crosses fingers*

I know a lot of people like it "crisp-tender", but I prefer it just a bit softer than that-- but NOT mushy (ick). This was SO good!

Oh yeah! I can't wait until some of my other stuff starts producing. So far we've had lettuce, onions and broccoli!

I can enjoy broccoli in a lot of different textures, including very mushy if it's part of a one pot meal that has a bunch of stuff in it. The only way I'm not fond of it is raw unless it's chopped very fine.

The only way I like it raw is in slaw. I love to mix "broccoli slaw" with regular coleslaw, and I mince it finer than it comes from the store in my processor.
