First of all, I had expected to be off today. I am *usually* off on the Monday if truck days are Tues. and Thurs. But this week my only day off is Wednesday. *sigh* It will probably be four days a week through the holidays.

I still have a hard hacking cough from the cold I had a few weeks back. It made me uncomfortable today at work. Cough drops don't seem to do the trick.

But the topper was my car. When I got home this afternoon, I remembered I had to go to the pharmacy to pick up some refills. It's only a few blocks, so I backed out, went, picked up the refills, got in my car, turned the key...nothing. It wasn't the battery, my radio worked, but it would NOT turn over.

And then I noticed the little red light blinking on the dash: THEFT. Somehow, I'd triggered the anti-theft lock. I pull out the owner manual to see how to disarm it. Oh, just use my little electronic keypad.

Except, uh, that broke off months ago. The little hole that attached it to my keyring had worn out. For a long time I'd carried it in my pocket, but then it had been put away. And the same thing happened to the one the DH carried.

I took my groceries and walked home. In the cold drizzle. Then remembered I'd left the Rx in the car and walked back to get them.

Needless to say, neither of us can remember the "safe" place we had put them, and I have no idea how we are going to get it started again. He's up at the pharmacy with our son trying to see what they can do.

Not sure what we are going to do now. *sigh*

*big hugs*

That sounds like a truly rotten day! I hope the cough goes away quickly and that it won't be exacerbated by the rain. And I do hope you'll find that thing for your car so you can un-lock it.

Oh my, what a problem! I hate when I put something away to keep it safe and then can't remember where I put it. I guess if tearing the house apart doesn't work, you might could call the dealer for a replacement? (Although I see from the comments you did get it started, so that's good...)

Definitely best to tear the house apart, then! I'm sure they'll turn up eventually. :)

Oh. :( Good luck with solving the problem. Perhaps you can contact some certified mechanic/engineer/car shop?
*fingers crossed*
