I'm a little worried. I keep hearing, off and on, what sounds like a kitty crying outside. I've looked out all of the windows and out the back door, and even went out on the porch to see if I could see one.

My guess is that if there is one, it's a stray underneath the house. It would be mostly sheltered there, and if it stayed under where the floor furnace or the hot water heater are located, it might even be relatively warm. But still--

I called my neighbor. Her cat hangs around our yard a lot-- but I can't imagine that they would not have brought her inside in this weather. But no one answered. I left a voice mail, but she might have her cell turned off or something.

And maybe I'm just imagining it. I hope so. I hate to think of anything outside in this kind of weather.

ETA: It's not my imagination. My neighbor just called back. Apparently they had brought her in, but when they let her out to do her business (she will not use a litter pan, and always insists on going out) instead of coming back in, as she had earlier in the day, she took off. They called her, but cats aren't always good at coming back when called. Anyway, she was glad I phoned because they didn't know where she'd headed. Her husband was able to go out and lure her out from under our house with some food. So now Olivia is back inside, safe and sound and warm. Thank goodness!

I really hope that's not what you are hearing, but if it is, I hope the poor thing is okay through the storm.
