I finished my dress! I finished my dress!

Well, except for a bit of handwork I will do on the trip up. It came out just as I hoped, except a bit longer than I planned, but that's not necessarily a bad thing!

Now to check my flist!

Well, it mostly looks like I hoped it would.

The high-waisted bodice is black velvet, with silk ribbon rosebuds along the back of the neckline, and part of the way down from the shoulders in front. There are silk ribbon roses on the petal sleeves as well. There is a black velvet panel with an applique of "The Unicorn in Captivity" in the center front of the skirt, and the rest of the skirt is pieced in various floral fabrics. It's fully lined, too, so I don't need a slip.

Congratulations on finishing the dress. I can almost sew on a button so I am impressed when anyone sews anything.
