What next...

As most of you know, I came home from going out of town to my neice's wedding.

And got home to the news that our central A/C is out. If you live in South Mississippi this time of year, that is a *problem*. Sweltered for two days while waiting for service. Verdict: we need a new unit. To the tune of six grand.

If we get the power company to finance, it can be tacked on our electric bill--*if* they will approve us. I don't like it, as it will mean basically a second mortgage.

In the meantime, we picked up a couple of cheap window units so we can sleep at night. Personally, I think it would be cheaper just to stick window units around the house, and write off the central for a year or so...

In other news...
The doctor's office called with the results of my latest lab work: my synthroid dose has to be upped; my good cholesterol is OK, my bad cholesterol is high, my regular cholesterol is high, my triglycerides are high, my sodium is *still* high...*sigh* I hate this. I *like* food!

Have to go to work in a few minutes. Don't want to. But I'll probably have fun once I get there.

Ha! I had to think to work out what A/C was. Which tells you all you need to know about this climate!

Poor Barbara!!! Yall must be dying in that house with no A/C! A few years ago, our A/C went out and we couldn't afford a new one, so we bought one of those window units and put it in my folks' room. It was like an ice box! Felt so good too. Yes, window units are very good :P

Please get your cholesterol regular, because you're gonna have me worried!!!

It's been pretty miserable, and this is only May. That's my one thing I'm grateful for--that this *didn't* wait till August to happen!!

Window units are nice, but of course unless you have one in almost every room, they aren't much help where they are not. (Did that make sense?)

Oh, I suppose I'd better. But I *like* cholesterol--cheese, red meat, cheese, ice cream, cheese, butter, cheese...;-)

We have central air, but we also have window units and I prefer the window units. They let me decide how cold it is in my part of the house without everyone else having to agree. LOL Besides, I love the way they block out other noises when I am sleeping.
