I wanted to make this post yesterday, but it took me forever to get my pics uploaded!

The DH and I had a great Easter weekend, in spite of my having to work Sat. and Sun. I had short shifts, so I was off after 1:30 both days. Saturday after work, we took a drive to Shawnee, where we found a cool used book store: I replaced my one-volume paperback of LotR, my paperback Tolkien Reader, both of which were falling apart. I also found a paperback edition of CoH, and Tolkien in the Land of Heroes by Anne C. Petty, as well as a nice book on silk ribbon embroidery by Judith Baker Montano. We found the Hancock fabric store, where I picked up some notions that were on sale, and we located a store my husband was interested in, that deals in water features for the yard. We were too late to look around, but plan to go back now that we know it's there. We ate supper at a Boomerang Diner (their chicken-fried steak is to die for!).

Sunday morning it was pouring down rain, so the sunrise service at the church was moved indoors to the sanctuary. It was a brief but moving service, and we got home in plenty of time for me to get ready for work.

When I got off work, the DH and I had a nice relaxing afternoon, watching TV and coloring in coloring books, followed by coloring some Easter eggs. Then we had a supper of ham, green beans cooked with new potatoes, homemade rye bread, a salad made up of stuff from the garden, deviled eggs and strawberry pie for dessert.

I hope everyone else had as nice a weekend as we did!

	Easter wreath The Easter wreath I made this year.
	Straw-hat Easter bunny I made this Easter decoration several years back. The pic looks a bit dark because the bunny is hanging behind the screen on the front porch.
	My Easter basket Here's the basket my DH got for me! He ordered it made for me--it had candy, lotion, a beautiful blank journal, a picture frame, a small photo album, some bath fizzies and other small goodies.
	Easter basket for the DH Here's the Easter basket I made for my hubby. Has some sugar-free candy and several other things I thought he might like, including bubbles. He loves to blow bubbles...
	Easter eggs Here's the Easter eggs the DH and I made. About half of them are left. I made deviled eggs out of half of them.
	Daffodils in bloom The daffodils were in bloom. The bluebird house in the foreground is now occupied.
	The roses on the arbor next to the front porch. These have never been quite so lush as they were the first year, due to their getting damaged by the contractor when our roof was replaced. Still they keep coming back.
	Irises They seem to be blooming one at a time this year.
	Yellow Roses These yellow roses are blooming really well this year.
	Red roses by the kitchen window. These look redder than they are-- they are really more of a pinky-red.
	Some of my potted herbs Left to right: basil, parsley, chives. The chives are now four years old.
	A little tub with herbs Lemon balm, greek oregano and thyme. All of these are two years old.
	More of my herbs this year Sage, mint, rosemary and dill. The sage and mint are also four years old.
	My "cattle trough" garden Front to back: green onions, red lettuce, carrots, radishes, mesclun (baby lettuce). In the background is a bed that's not completely planted. right now has lettuce and cauliflower.
	Another bed This garden bed has potatoes on the left-hand side, and a couple of cabbage plants. I did have some Swiss chard as well, until a towhee attacked it!
