Hello! The weekend cometh...
Apr. 28th, 2011 10:06 pmWell, as you can see, LJ has messed up my layout again! I put a request in, but haven't heard back yet.
I don't think I've ever really mentioned this on LJ before, but I have had a long-standing problem with edema (swelling) in my legs, especially my left one. And for about the last 3 months, I've been suffering from a dreadful rash on that leg as well...
About a month and a half back, my primary referred me to a clinic here that specializes in feet and legs. They have been a big help with the edema, using electrical Deep Muscle Stimulation and massage, which has helped a lot. And after trying a couple of different topical treatments on the rash that didn't work, today they put me on a course of Prednisone, and a pill that should help the itching as well. I really have high hopes for it, because the itching's been quite miserable.
In other news, I was off today, and decided to throw caution to the winds diet-wise, and do something that I generally only do about once or twice a year anymore: make REAL southern-fried chicken for supper. *happy sigh* It was a great success!
I put fresh herbs in the cooking oil, and keep the chicken in a low (200 degree) oven when it's done, as I finish the rest of the meal: mashed potatoes, peas, biscuits, white gravy and fresh garden salad.
I will have to be very good the rest of the weekend.
The DH works this weekend, and I only have one short shift on Saturday, so I really HOPE to get a lot of writing done!
Hope everyone else has a great time this weekend as well-- guess I'll start off tomorrow morning by "attending" this wedding people have been talking about...

Date: 2011-04-29 03:10 pm (UTC)I watched the wedding just for fun, but got all misty when William and Harry walked out to the center aisle together. So handsome, looking so much like Diana. I remember getting up early to watch her wedding, too. Kate sure does have a sense of style - loved her wedding dress. I wish for them a happy marriage and long life together.

Date: 2011-04-30 03:08 pm (UTC)I got up early to watch Diana's wedding, but I was 30 years younger then, LOL! Thank goodness for DVRs.
Kate is beautiful, but more than that, she seems like a sensible and confident young woman, much less shy and easily rattled by the fuss than William's mother was. I think it bodes well for the two of them.
