But also a VERY close attention to detail, especially historical, extra-canonical, or little-known details. Intricate family relationships. Sweetness. Happy endings. Logical progressions. For some reason, a lot of letters. And descriptive, simple titles.

I always look forward to the fanfic version of being Goodmorning'd by Belladonna Took's son. I can't put it more plainly, but something about your fic always reminds me heavily of that mood in canon. It makes your stories feel delightfully like extensions of my favorite stories from JRRT's pages.

This is going to seem silly, but I find myself looking for the word Tupper in your stories. Every time I see it, I get a good giggle.

The first time I used it was in "A Place for Gandalf", when Bilbo coined the word as meaning a late tea/early supper combined. I don't think I've used it all that often, but it makes me smile too.

I may love angsty stuff but there are times when I need a Dreamflower tale - I'm glad you are around to write them!

My things mostly do have as happy an ending as I can render and keep within canon. And if AU, I much prefer a "happy" AU to a dark one!

BTW, I love the Sam quote in your icon-- it seems like his words on "story" can apply to so many of the tales we love...

Isn't that a great icon? It marries my newest love with my eternal one beautifully. I wish I could say I made it; the one who did is long gone from LJ, but it was just too perfectly me that I couldn't help but snag it.

And, naturally, I meant within canon. You mean there is another kind of tale? (the canon snob in me rears her ugly head - LOL!)

Well, I do like AUs sometimes, but I like them, if possible to be "canon-y" AUs, where maybe one or two little things are changed, and then we see what results are. But I like everything else to stay the same. And I want the characters to stay the characters! I really *DIS*like "modern AUs" where the characters live in modern times and go to high school or college or something and have no connection to the original characters other than names!

(This is NOT the same as the occasional story of Elves living into modern times which is not un-canonical and can work well in the hands of a skilled author, or the characters being transported to modern times-- which can be funny. But I am sure you know what I mean.)
