Here's some pictures of some of our indoor stuff that I've made behind the cut...
Halloween decorations
The pumpkin in the middle is one I made a few years back. The two little candy corn holders I made today. But I've made them before.
A Closer view
Here they are a little closer up.
And even closer
I won't be keeping them. I've made them before: terra cotta flowerpots, painted to look like candy-corn. The faces are done with Sharpie. Then I filled them with candy-corn, wrapped them in cellophane, and tied on ribbons. The DH will take them in to work with him this weekend, one to put at each nurses station on each hall for everyone to share.
I plan to make another to put in the office at the church for staff there to share.
Cat pumpkin
I made this "funkin" year before last.
Several years ago the candy-corn pots were a project for the Kid's Club at Michaels where I worked. They make a perfect little gift for people who work in offices!
The "funkins" or similar fake pumpkins are available at Hobby Lobbies, Michaels-- even Walmart has some, though the one here only seems to have them in one size. They've gone up in price considerably-- styrofoam is a lot more expensive than it used to be! But at least around here, they are only somewhat more expensive than real ones, and they last year after year. I usually one new "fake" one and a couple of real ones too, but haven't this year. I may pick some up this weekend, but we won't have time to carve them this year.
Hasn't everything. *sigh* But I might poke around Hobby Lobby or Michaels to see if they have any on clearance. I'm not a big Halloween decorator but I'd like to have a few carved LOTR-themed pumpkins to put out every year and some years I just don't have the time or inclination to carve one, and when I do, I hate that it's only temporary!
Those candy corn pots are adorable. I love that cat pumpkin--it reminds me of those visual illusions, where it takes a second for the eyes to see the three different pumkins, and the kitty. :)
