OK, everyone...
Oct. 28th, 2011 11:15 amMy entire morning has been consumed (I won't say wasted, because I loved every moment of it!) by Mark Reads The Hobbit!
This is a guy who has never in his life read anything Tolkien, not The Hobbit, not LotR, none of it! Not only that, he's never seen the movies either or been exposed it much except, apparently, people who stared at him in incredulous disbelief! So it's almost like vicariously reading TH for the first time again. I adored all of his reactions and stuff, and felt compelled to comment on each post. (It's really HARD not to say anything spoilery, but I think I managed fairly well on that score. SPOILERS THERE ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN!! If you plan to comment, do read his rules about spoilers.)
So run, don't walk, over there to see his wide-eyed and incredulous reactions to the story as a story he's never seen before. (BTW: LANGUAGE! There is definitely LANGUAGE all over his posts, especially the one that starts with the sixth letter of the alphabet.)
But seriously, adorable and fun!
ETA This site is fun, too: http://rot13.com/index.php What a neat way to talk about spoilers without spoiling anyone!

Date: 2011-10-29 02:20 am (UTC)And I just loved the very first one as he's trying to comprehend the Dwarves! He was just as mind-boggled as poor Bilbo was!

Date: 2011-10-29 02:27 am (UTC)And his enthusiasm for his subject is quite adorable! I loved all the questions he had about things in the first chapter review-- just the sorts of questions that spawn plot bunnies in those of us who are fanfic-ly inclined...
And the spoiler code? That is made of AWESOME!
