Block number two pattern!

Whee! fis_bom has posted the pattern for block number two!

This one looks to be fun and easy! The hardest part will be getting bits of all the right colors!

This is completely cool! I never heard of fandom in stitches before, but block number two is wonderful. I was looking at my cloth stash yesterday - I guess I'll have to hustle to catch up!

You know what I really enjoy about this block? When I was trying to guess what the other blocks would be, I came up with a lot of images but they were superficial things, stuff anybody who'd read the Hobbit in 7th grade would remember. The cloaks hanging on pegs, in the right color order? This is something only a true Tolkien geek would think of.

Getting all the colors exactly right will be the fun part. Lining everything up perfectly will be the hard part. I already want to change the pattern, though (I am known for going my own way with directions, LOL, even when I don't know what I'm doing, like now). I'd really like Gandalf's hat on the peg with his cloak, as the book says. I may fuss a bit, and then end up making it the way they say anyway, but the fussing will also be fun. And there will definitely be a silver tassel added to Thorin's.

Yes, I'd thought of Gandalf's hat too, and may just make that separately and applique it on after I finish the whole block. And I think I already have a silver tassel, though it may be too large...

I have to get a new ink cartridge in my printer so I can print out the pattern.
