2. peach sherbert (I forgot to bring some home today, and I really wanted some)

I have some! Made from very ripe New Jersey peaches, too. I bought a Cuisinart ice cream maker in the summer specifically to make peach sherbet or sorbet from the peaches that Mr. P was bringing up from the Garden State on the weekends. New Jersey peaches are amazingly good, so I, dragon-like, have been hoarding my homemade sherbet for the depths of winter.

It's delicious! It freezes pretty hard, but that's nothing that a few seconds in the microwave can't take care of. I love the ice cream maker. It's a Cuisinart and similar, I think, to one that [livejournal.com profile] surgicalsteel bought. I also made ginger-cardamom ice cream and plain ol' vanilla in it, too.

I want some of that ice cream. That flavor sounds like the exact thing for the winter months.
Shirebound's new story is already very exciting, isn't it? I didn't see Lindelea's. I will have to go in search of it later. I always enjoy her stories.
Glad your interent/phone/tv is working again.

I'm going to have to try that peach sherbet. And I might try the meme, too, as at the moment I qualify under #1 - person with too much time on her hands!

(I think "Vigg-- er, never mind" definitely ought to do it!)

IF ONLY!!! *g*

And the peach sherbet is delicious! Do you live in an area that has a Braum's?

Yes, we have them all over Springfield... I really need to remember to stop in and get a half-gallon. The only time I seem to remember is when you mention it and I kick myself for forgetting!

I have both purple and yellow. What shades/designs do you want? I can send on Monday.

BTW, I forwarded the quilt link to a Tolkienist sister of mine -- who also does "art" quilts -- and she's totally excited!

Seriously, if you want me to send some fabric, e-mail me your mailing address.

*hugs*

I had four types of purple, which was good because I needed two that complemented each other. I didn't have brown or any grey other than Gandalf's. I made the mistake of going to the craft store. I stood in (two) lines for 45 minutes for my $3.78 purchase of bits of fabric!

I was quite pleased that I had many of the colors needed this time. However, a lot of my quilting stash is floral, and floral dwarf cloaks didn't seem right. But you're right, I've spent more than I thought on just the two blocks so far, probably because I want to get it "just right." Although actually, it might be fun to do one up with the wildest, 60s psychedelic colors possible.

The craft store was just that busy. I parked what seemed like three miles away, waited 20 minutes in the cutting line for my little bits of fabric, and then walked to the checkout line. Despite having all the registers staffed (even the truck-unloading types were manning registers) the checkout line was across the front of the store, down the side and almost to the back wall. It took 25 more minutes; however, people were pleasant and well-behaved. I just couldn't believe the number of people who having finished Halloween, are now in full-contact Christmas mode. I won't be there for at least a month, maybe more. There was also a big sale, and the last day for a coupon, which I'm sure increased traffic.

I've got two rows put together so far, and I'm just not going to be able to match all those points and intersections perfectly. I am pleased with the overall look, though.

When I read the last "three things" category, my chocolate radar immediately picked up on the "Hot Chocolate". But then (still on the chocolate fixation) I thought I saw you mention Lindt right above.

Until I actually looked properly and saw... Lindenlea...
