Very much so! PJ and/or his casting director are really amazing. I remember a publicity shot that never made it into the movies with Frodo, Merry and Pippin in their post-Quest finery sitting in front of some place in the Shire, and OMG! They LOOKED LIKE COUSINS! Nothing too obvious, but there was a clear family resemblance!

And Martin Freeman as Bilbo has that too! You totally buy him as Bilbo the younger, and as someone who is kin to the hobbits of LotR!

He doesn't just look Tookish, he looks very much like Bilbo :) I'm so excited!! I can't wait. I'll need to reread the book and hopefully that will help me keep those 13 dwarves appart :)

I think they will be kept apart much better in the movies than in the books. In the books only Thorin, Balin, Dori and Bombur show much individual personality. Fili and Kili a little from the other Dwarves, but not from one another...

I'm amazed I didn't wake the neighborhood from my outburst of squeeing when I watched this. Well, OK, maybe it was squeeing inside my head, but still... :^D

Loved it. Freeman's superb. And the deep, beautifully sonorous Dwarvish song? Oooooooh, that gave me the chills.

I couldn't resist taking a spin through TORn this a.m. to have a look at the reactions: mostly squeeing, some of the whining and sniffing I've come to expect.

So. A year's wait. Argh!!!

I can't get over how WONDERFUL it all looks! Although (and I've mentioned this at other discussions too), it was a trifle disconcerting to be in such a familiar place and see such unfamiliar faces there.

Oh, Howard Shore, how I love your music! I've been as anxious to hear it as I have been to see the film, and this teaser justifies the anticipation. The Dwarves' song is already stuck in my head - must keep replaying the trailer till I learn the words...

He really reminds me of Pippin very strongly. It's so exciting. I wasn't excited about the Hobbit until now, but now I can't wait to see more.

I can't stop watching it. :happysigh: I was soooo hyper yesterday and i just am wallowing in relief and contentment that the Hobbit is definitely coming!
Will reread in the meantime ;)
