TS Arlene and other subjects
Jun. 11th, 2005 06:22 pmWell, Tropical Storm Arlene is heading in this direction. It looks like she's going in between Pascagoula, MS and Pensacola, FL. That's to the east of us, so it's good for us, not so good for the people to the east. At least this is no Hurricane Ivan. It's early in the season for anything very strong, and I would not be surprised if she fizzles out about the time she makes landfall.
Just in case, though, I picked up a case of bottled water and some batteries. And of course, we'll be getting tons of rain anyway, so I'll be watching my sewing room for signs of flooding.
In other news, I had a great day at work. They paged me to pick up a call for customer service: it was a gentleman wanting to find out how to get his replica of Sting that was autographed by Elijah Wood and Sean Astin cleaned without ruining the autograph. I made a couple of suggestions, but told him I was no expert. Still we had a nice LotR conversation.
My DH has a meeting tonight, so I'm on my own for supper. *grin* I have to get the door. It's Domino's!
Oh, and Pearl Took has posted some more on to the Round Robin at PippinHealers yahoogroup. So any of you out there, let's keep this thing going...

Date: 2005-06-11 12:44 am (UTC)Oh how I would love to see that replica!
When is the next SCA event? It keeps coming to my mind that I need to get over to your house so we can finish my dress. *sighs* It's busy some days and then extremely boring on others, so I have no clue.

Date: 2005-06-13 03:24 am (UTC)BTW, if he ever calls back, I cleaned my Sting with gun oil---on my brother's advice. Will keep it from rusting and keeps it shiny and nice-looking. I don't know exactly what it might do to an autograph, though.

Date: 2005-06-13 03:33 am (UTC)I do have a neat job. It has it's downside like any other job, but for the most part it's a blast. Unfortunately, I had to call in to work today; I have had some sort of stomach bug all day long.
