Oh no!.

I have mentioned from time to time that my favorite news personality-- actually my favorite celebrity-- is Robin Roberts of Good Morning America. She is a sweet, warm and genuine person, and my husband and I have followed her career since she was a junior sports reporter at WLOX in Biloxi, MS.

A few years ago, she successfully beat breast cancer. But today she made this announcement! *sigh*

I so hope that she does beat the odds this time around-- I'll be keeping her in my prayers!

I don't watch any daytime TV so I'm not familiar with Robin, but I am familiar with leukemia. I hope she makes it through this with flying colors.

I will keep Robin in prayer. I don't watch daytime TV at all so am not familiar with her, but I am familiar with leukemia. I've had three good friends, my dad and his dad who all died from various types of leukemia. I hope she'll pull through with flying colors.

We usually watch GMA for the news as we have breakfast each morning; it's been a delight watching Robin rise in prominence over the years to head anchor of the show. She is a warm and funny person, just as skilled at serious interviews and news as she is with the fluffier stuff.

She will need all the prayers she can get.

It is. It must be difficult having to deal with such personal ups-and-downs of life in such a public manner, but she always handles it with such grace.

This is what my Dad died from. However, he was old and sick and not a candidate for transplant; very different from her condition. So people like my Dad skew the life expectancy numbers downward. I hope her transplant is successful and she recovers well.

Robin has always struck me as a very classy lady. I admired the way she handled herself last time and I will be adding my prayers to the stream.

It's nice to hear from another Robin fan. She really is a very classy person-- able to be silly without being vulgar, and able to be serious without being pompous, she really nails the fine line between serious news and fluff needed in a morning show.

I remember when she left WLOX, we were so sad to see her go, but pleased that she was moving up! We were so excited when we learned she had been hired at ESPN. And then, of course, she came to GMA.

One thing I love is that she has never made a big deal about the fact that she is the first female African-American to be the anchor host on a major network morning show.

I also love how she's so proud of her late father, who was a Tuskegee airman, and how she cares for her mother, and how she responded to her home town of Pass Christian after Katrina.

She is one class act, and I hope she does beat this thing!
