Jun. 27th, 2012 11:17 amMy sweetie picked me flowers:
Yesterday morning he was out getting the lawn mowed before it got too hot, and he came in and brought me these:

Sunflowers and crepe myrtle! Don't they make a nice bouquet? All of our sunflowers are "volunteers", which is to say they grow in random places in the yard from dropped bird seed.
And here's some more of my garden bounty! I may be making pickles this weekend! And look at the size of the squash!

Finally, Miss Belladonna discovers my Fourth of July arrangement...

And I have just got to tell y'all a story on Miss Bell. Last night the DH got up to let Sophie out, and decided to make himself a meat loaf sandwich. He made the sandwich and put it on the counter. Then he went to let Sophie back in. When he turned around, Miss Bell was on top of his sandwich, all four feet, and getting ready to eat the meat loaf out of it! LOL! It was quite a sight, and I wish we'd had the camera around for that one!
The DH being the DH, shooed the cat off and ate the sandwich. ("I'm not going to waste good meatloaf!")

Date: 2012-06-27 06:18 pm (UTC)He IS a sweetie! He often brings a single flower in for me from the yard, like a rose or a daffodil or something, but this was the first time he brought me in a bunch like that. And yes, I think it's very romantic!

Date: 2012-06-27 07:54 pm (UTC)Ever since we moved here and had yellow and blue striped wallpaper in the kitchen, I've been on the lookout for yellow-and-blue themed accessories. It's why I made the curtains and so forth. I figured it was a lot easier to go with the flow than to strip wallpaper!
