Yesterday's high: 113F
Today's predicted high: 113F
That's actual air temp, not heat index.
Remember this? It's even more applicable this year.

The only things left alive in my garden are some of my herbs and a few onions. But we had a pretty good harvest over the spring and summer! I have one more mess of okra left, and a couple of small eggplants.

I have a new keyboard and mouse! The DH needed to get our modem replaced, because our WiFi was not working for his laptop and phone. When he unhooked the modem, he got frustrated with all the wires and decided that it would help a little to have a wireless keyboard and mouse. I was surprised at how inexpensive they were-- and he didn't buy the cheapest one in the store either.

It's all hooked up now, and I am trying to get my fingers used to a larger keyboard and a more responsive mouse!

We may be going to OKC this afternoon-- he's got to go over on a business errand, and I don't know if I'm going with him or not.

Just a reminder to folks in the [livejournal.com profile] lotr_community: If you have some stories you'd like to be eligible for the Tree and Flower awards, you have only today and tomorrow to get them uploaded. Only stories posted by Aug. 3 are eligible!

You've got our hot temps beat. We've been hovering around 99-103F. I'm thinking fall can't arrive soon enough! You've done well with your garden despite the heat.

Yikes, that's a nasty water bill. :( I can't decide which is better/worse, being on a community water system with its rising rates or being on a well like we are, where we don't have to worry about rising water rates but at the same time, if the well goes dry, we'll be out $10-15K for a new one. Mostly I'm just conserving water and trying not to think about it beyond praying the well doesn't go dry!

We've been putting off washing our car, which means it looks atrocious but so does everyone else's cars, so we're not alone, at least.

Does your municipality get its water from wells or rivers & reservoirs?

113. Oh my. *thud* That is 45C. I sooooooooooo sympathize with you. I don't like the heat - I'd die on that temperature!
Good luck!

And here I thought our summer had been hot! You certainly have us beat. We've been over 100 only slightly here. The last week or so it has been in the high eighties so I'll just quit complaining about the heat now and be very relieved that it isn't 113. I hope you are able to stay cool during all that.
If you went to the city, I hope you had fun. : )

Looks like Ermesto is way out in the Eastern Caribbean at the moment as far as tropical weather goes. No real chance of rain in Central Texas for the next week as things currently stand. :(

That kind of heat is absolutely wretched! I hope it's cooled down some by now!
