Arrrgh!

I just spent an hour and a half making the next voting poll for the T&F awards, and when I went to post it, LJ gave me this message:

[Error parsing poll: Text inside an lj-pi tag must be between 1 and 255 characters. Yours is 0.]

Now, I know I had more than 0 characters! Am I going to have to chop this poll up even more? I had more than 255 characters in the first poll!

Does anyone know what the heck it means? And what I will have to do to fix it?

No idea. But I have made an LJ poll or two (not particularly experienced). If you send me a copy of the list I am willing to try to make a dummy one myself to troubleshoot the process for you.

Trying doing a mock up of the next set of stories and they worked perfectly for me. Let me know if you are still having trouble and I can try to do them for you.

Thank you SO much for your offer of help! I emailed you a copy of the page I was working on. So far as I know I was following the directions!

This is so frustrating! I had hoped to get at least 3 of the polls up today!

I just saw the one you did, and it looked fine except for being boxes instead of buttons.

I wish I knew what the heck I'd done wrong!

I know that stuff is supposed to be a no-brainer, but actually is tricky and frustrating--why I don't do more polls in my fooling around and research. I just didn't pay attention to the fact that you were using buttons (Oh, yes, Little Miss Attentive to Fine Details here!).
