This sounds like a lot of fun. I'll give it a go!

If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to wet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

From the as yet unfinished Ch. 13 of "It Takes a Took": He had taken his friend’s cold left hand and lifted it up to the white gem at his throat; as it came in contact, Frodo’s hand closed on it almost convulsively, and his ragged breathing began to steady.


From an unfinished fic, working title Eucatastrophe 2: “Quickbeam dropped the body; I don’t doubt he felt a bit appalled at what he’d just done."


From a finished and submitted but as yet unposted fic for Marigold's next challenge: As the small stone skittered past his ankle, Boromir rolled his eyes.

I'm really intrigued with what other folks have come up with so far!

Thanks for the heads up. You've just gotten to the Frodo angst - which is the stuff I particularly love (though Pip angst is a very close second).

I tend to ratchet up the angst for all four of them. I love them all equally. But I think I'm going to have to pack it in. I just wrote a sentence that made no sense whatsoever, and ended in a line of "v"s. And I'm getting sidetracked by a bunny from the hobbit_ficathon that keeps hopping back and forth across the screen. So tomorrow it is. Good night.
