Are you encouraging others to post to her post or did you want to start your own?
Nice idea though. My daughter recently got me onto Tumblr, but after posting some watermarked pictures, I kind of grew bored with it. I mean, it's probably a great way to share pics and kitten videos, but there's no way to really get into a discussion there. *yawn* LJ's definitely better.
I probably should have done that before I posted... LOL! Oh, definitely it's better than Facebook (which I can't figure out either) but Tumblr is just a way to show people pics or little videos you found. Interesting for a short attention span (my 13 y.o. is addicted to it) but it gets boring quick. Twitter is... well, I think it could be useful for information on a big story breaking locally or for news on things you're interested in, but I like having some meat to my posts - something I can get into, KWIM? So consequently, I don't twitter much either.
Neither Tumblr nor Twitter are available to me at work but LJ is, so I'm OK with that. :)
When I learned tweets are only supposed to be 140 characters I shrugged and said "not for me" because I am way too long-winded for that and I've never got the hang of "text speak" (I don't text either.)
But I've lately been thinking about learning to tweet, since the news outlets are beginning to show tweets from viewers when they interview people. It would be perfect for telling some politician "Shut up you idiot!" instead of saying it to the TV screen. ;D
LJ may be Alive but I can't see this post. LOL I am going to try it again later with my Google Chrome. FireFox isn't letting me see it. I think LJ is trying to run me off. I'm still here but lots of times I can't read stuff.

Date: 2013-01-24 03:33 am (UTC)I haven't even tried Tumblr. And I haven't tried Tweeting yet either. I tend to be kind of a stick-in-the-mud.
I *know* LJ's better than Facebook!
