That all of a sudden, Disney is plastering the word "Fandom" at the bottom of the TV screen during the movies? The DH is watching PotC and there it is.
I noticed that last night too! I was watching some show about a guy who has a Star Wars museum in his house and it was very strange to hear them use the word fandom during every commercial break :D
I think they actually did trademark 'Día de los Muertos' (a reasonably prominent Mexican holiday) for an upcoming movie - sort of analogous to trademarking 'Hallowe'en.' So while it may sound odd, they probably could trademark 'Fandom' as long as no one else has trademarked it and they dot all the i's and cross all the t's on the paperwork.
