I've FINALLY figured out how to post these pics!

Here's one afternoon's harvest:

And a few days later:

Left to right: Lime sweet pickles; 2 jars sweet pickle relish

Left to right:Bread-and-butter pickles; tomato-lemon marmalade; kosher dill slices; dill pickle relish; pickled cherry tomatoes The marmalade is yummy! The DH loves it just as it is, and also I added some to the barbecue sauce I made for pulled pork the other evening! And the pickled cherry tomatoes are WOW! like an explosion of juicy sour garlicky tomato-y tartness in your mouth! OMG delicious! And easy enough for anyone to make! I have to get some more jars, because we now have as many tomatoes again as we do in that second picture above!

These are the first of the green beans I have put up for the freezer, a mixture of yard-long beans and tenderpod; I now have about four more bags of just the yard long ones, and they are still bearing. I expect to have at least four more bags by the end of the evening. And that is not counting five or six messes of beans that I have cooked for dinner the very day I picked them!

We were quite excited when we found out that my schedule this week would allow me to accompany my DH on his out-of-town trip to Vinita,OK, for some training at their satellite office there (especially since our anniversary fell on this past Wednesday). Our son agreed to look after Sophie and Miss Belladonna. We drove up Sunday evening after supper and it took about 2 1/2 hours--we got there just about 10. We had a suite at the Holiday Inn Express there, complete with microwave, small fridge and a complimentary breakfast every morning. We were really tired, so right after unpacking and putting away the food, we showered and fell into bed. The DH slept soundly, but the bed was a little too firm for my comfort.

Got up at 6AM, both got dressed and went down to the breakfast, which was quite nice. They had a cute little machine that spits out freshly made pancakes! Saw the DH off to work and went back up to the room and settled down with some stitchery and TV watching. Made a sandwich for lunch after a few hours. Mostly watched the Food Network with interludes of HGTV. The DH got back to the hotel a little early, so we went to a couple of nearby stores to pick up a few things and then went for a swim in the hotel pool. Came back to the room and I made some supper, using the microwave and a little electric skillet we took with us. Tuesday he also got back a little early, and we went to the local library, which also had a really cute little museum attached to it. The DH took some pics with his phone, and when he sends them to me I will see if I can post them! There was an AMAZING quilt.
Wednesday was our anniversary, and I made a couple of little steaks and baked potatoes for our supper, and then we went to the local Braums and split a triple fudge sundae. We had made plans, [livejournal.com profile] baranduin, to go to Clanton's Cafe Thursday, but we actually ended up getting to come home earlier on Thursday than we had thought we would. But we are definitely planning to go back to Vinita when it can be for just fun.

I enjoyed having some quiet time there by myself, getting some stitchery and some reading done, but I was only able to be online sporadically; the hotel had WiFi, but it was spotty and unreliable, so I only got to skim my flist while I was gone.

I posted all about Thursday on [livejournal.com profile] monthlydiaryday.

Today it was back to work.
