Once more, for Lent instead of giving up something negative, I am going to try to find something positive. Each day of Lent I hope to post something beautiful and uplifting.

What a terrific idea! I don't observe Lent so it all tends to go by me except for the hoopla at the beginning and, of course, Holy Week and Easter. Your idea to fill the time by focusing on beautiful things is lovely.

Being Methodist, I'm used to Lent. But it's mostly known for giving up something, which has never seemed quite right to me. If it's a bad thing like, say smoking or drinking or swearing, just giving it up for 40 days seems useless. And if it's something that's good in moderation, like chocolate or hamburgers or your favorite TV show, well why would it honor the Lord to give up a simple pleasure?

I know the idea is to make a sacrifice of some sort. I'd rather sacrifice a little of my time finding something that might cheer or inspire someone and share it.
