The first time I heard this song was being sung by my college roommate. It was one of her favorite songs.

Another song I love! I grew up with this one. My parents were from Tennessee and I had a very religious Grandma who was always singing lovely gospels like this one. :)

It's a beautiful old song, and I've often heard it since, but my roommate was the first person I heard sing it!

This is a wonderful song. I was introduced to it on the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack. I love her Down to the River to Pray even more!

I love almost anything by Alison Krause. My roommate's voice, actually was quite a lot like hers, very soft and breathy and sweet.
