Still watching Ivan
Sep. 13th, 2004 07:40 amWell, we're still watching where Ivan plans to head. Looks like he's keeping to the east of us so far; I hope that maybe he will diminish before he heads ashore. I have to go to work for a few hours this morning, and then see about picking up a few supplies.
The other day, the Tolkien newsgroups started on "The Voice of Saruman" for Chapter of the Week discussion, and this little bit came up that I had never paid any attention to in all my readings. I think it would make a splendid plot bunny.
Merry and Pippin are leading Aragorn, Legolas and Gimlli to meet up with Gandalf and company once more, and Merry says:"'Walk warily,' said Merry, 'There are loose slabs that may tilt up and throw you down into a pit, if you don't take care.'" Now how and why did he know this? Now doesn't that present all kinds of possibilities?
Anyway, I'm really having fun with this LJ.
