You should go eat at my family's catfish house in Belle Chasse. They make the best catfish EVER. My great-grandma and dad came up with the reciepts.

Catfish: they are a kind of freshwater fish found in this country in the South. They are bottom feeders (much like carp) and they have what looks like whiskers, which is what gives them their name. Mississippi catfish are mostly farm- or pond-raised on grain, and have a wonderful mild flavor.

The most common way to eat them is breaded in cornmeal, and fried golden crispy, served with fried potatoes, cole slaw, and hush puppies (which are little balls of fried cornmeal.)
