I thought I was going to work on fic today, but my DH had to use my computer for some stuff he couldn't do on his. I did work on "Road to Edoras" in longhand, and last night I nearly finished typing in the second chapter of my Challenge 17 fic, but I have to work tomorrow.
Meanwhile I came up with this based on a conversation I had with my husband.
I used a hospital elevator, since he works in a hospital.
Scene One:
Two men, who have worked in the building together for years get into the elevator on the first floor.
Man 1: Hey.
Man 2: Hey. Sixth floor?
Man 1: Yeah.
Sixth floor.
Man 1: See ya.
Man 2: Yeah. Havva nice day.
Scene Two:
Two women who have never even met one another get into the elevator on the first floor.
Woman 1: Good morning. What floor?
Woman 2: The sixth please.
Woman 1: Oh, I'm going to the sixth floor, too. My mother is there, she's just getting over surgery. Do you have a relative there?
Second floor.
Woman 2: I'm so sorry to hear about your mother; my husband's doing pretty well. He'll be getting out tomorrow, which is good, because we're expecting the grandkids to visit...
Woman 1: You have grandchildren? My daughter's expecting her first...
Third floor.
Woman 1: Oh, you have pictures of the grandchildren? How sweet!
Woman 2: Yes, this is my little grandson, he's four, and our granddaughter is six...
Woman 1: What a darling little dress she's wearing.
Woman 2: Thank you--I made it for her...
Fourth floor.
Woman 1: Well, I don't sew much, but I do knit. I made this sweater...
Woman 2: Oh, I've always wanted to learn to knit...
Fifth floor.
Woman 1: So you say that there is an online group for crafters?
Sixth floor.
Woman 2: Okay, you have my email address. Be sure to let me know and we'll see about getting together for lunch.
Woman 1: That sound's great. Well, we get off here. I'll be seeng you.
Scene three.
Same two men get on the elevator at the sixth floor.
Man 1: Hey.
Man 2: Hey. First floor?
Man 1: Yeah.
First floor.
Man 1: Bye. Seeya tomorrow
Man 2: Yeah. I hear ya.
