I got a late start on running my errands today, due to a difficulty in making some phone calls this morning...

So, Anna and I decided to go to Wal-Mart. *Our* Wal-Mart is open, but I was in there the other day--it still doesn't have much available, and much of the store is off-limits to customers because it's unsafe. (Now, if it's unsafe for customers, why are the employees back there?) So we drove to the Wal-Mart in Wiggins, oh about 40 miles from here. My husband washed the car Saturday, so naturally it rained lovebugs the whole way there.

While I was there I decided to pick up an extra sack of dog food to drop off for my friends who lost their house (the ones with the Irish wolfhound among others). I went to the home where they're staying, dropped it off, and then hit their mailbox. Mailbox 1, my bumper, 0. My insurance agent is just going to *lurrrve* me. *sigh* It wouldn't be so bad, but it's barely even been a year since I dinged my truck and smashed up some poor girl's rear end. I haven't even had this car but a month.

Tomorrow I'm going back over there and help sort through some of the clothing that's been donated to the barony. We have at least five families that lost everything.

I suppose a dinged bumper is not so much compared to that.

Sorry to hear about the car vs. mailbox showdown. Now that I'm driving, I'm just holding my breath in dread anticipation of my first accident, fender-bender or otherwise. I hope when it comes, it's nothing worse than nailing a mailbox.

I know that the aid organizations have been flooded with clothing, but is there anything else useful that I could send along to help the families in your barony?
