Felicity Street
Nov. 15th, 2005 06:59 amThis is an article about the street where my sister-in-law lived.
In the original article in the paper, there was also a picture that showed her landlord, among others, standing in the lot next to where she lived.

How is your sister-in-law? For that matter, how are you and your DH? And is Marigold's mom still with you, or has she moved into another apartment?
Hugs and brownies,
Mum

Date: 2005-11-15 07:14 pm (UTC)Yes, indeed. I keep thinking about what my husband told me about the axes.
M.A. has a FEMA trailer now, and is sharing a lot with a friend. They are sharing utiilities with the owner of the lot, who is trying to reconstruct the building that was there. She's still looking for a place to be able to do her massage, as the trailer is too small to set up a massage table.
The DH and I are doing all right. He's a bit depressed; he's going down there to work every day and having to drive through all the worst areas. On the bright side, we *did* finally see our adjustor, and a FEMA rep. We got a *tiny* check from FEMA, but we've no idea of how much we will receive from State Farm. *shrug* We hope to get a check soon. But then it will have to go to the mortgage company to be co-signed before we can bank it and get the work started.
We did get the yard cleaned up, finally. But the fence is still a mess. We will just have to see what happens next.
