It's me again.

I've been enjoying trying to get the hang of this LJ thing, and now I'm up in the wee hours, sleepless again, so I'm playing around with it some more.
My DH and I had a lovely evening clelbrating our anniversary--went out to eat at a very nice restaurant that specializes in Creole food. I'm not that into spicy, but they have a salad dressing there that is out of this world, and I always get one to go with my hot roast beef po boy. Then we went to a bookstore. Unfortunately I couldn't find much in the way of a book, but did manage to get a LoTR calendar for next year.
We're keeping an eye on Ivan--looks like he might head in this direction. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hurricanes=NO FUN!!! 8-<
I am having a blast reading everyone's comments--this is so cool!! Thanks, Marigold! ( I can't find my piece of paper with the directions for making your name thingy. It's around here somewhere...)

Hello, Dreamflower! I wanted to say hello and thank you for friending me. I always forget to look at my list to see who has friended me this week but I always like to return the favor even if I am a once in a while poster/reader. I also wanted to send a wave towards Gulfport. A large part of my mother's family are in that region. We used to go from Crystal Springs (where my Grandmother lived) south to Gulfport and go west along the beach road to Mobile and Fairhope, AL then on to Pensacola, FL, visiting all the family along the way. It was quite the world tour, but I did it nearly every summer of my young life and the area is quite dear to me. I remember the first place I ever saw white sand beaches was at a place called Johnson's beach somewhere along that shore.

Well and merrily met and I hope Ivan gives you folks a miss!

Hello to you also, Ariel! It's nice to hear from someone who knows the Gulf Coast. I was born in Mobile, and have lived almost my whole life along the Gulf Coast, so I know all those little places you are talking about.
We're hoping he'll miss, too, but it's not looking that way right now!
