Revised essay

Just in reading the books, I never really noticed it till I started looking for these things. It's only used the once, by Merry, when Pippin has splashed all the water out of the tub at Crickhollow. So if I use it in a fic, only Merry says it.

But you're right, it does have that sort of sound to it.

I remember reading it but I can¨t remember what it was about so maybe I should read it again... :)

I kept thinking about fanon/canon things yesterday after my attempt at catching up on flist and thus reading so many posts and it is really an interesting discussion but I couldn't come up with anything new that hasn't been discussed before.

Thanks for these! I love your analyses of Tolkien's world. I have both the old version and this revision memoried. I keep them both in case I ever need to use an exclamation in a fic - I don't think I have, yet, but you never know :)

No, you never know when a hobbit might hit his thumb with a hammer, or an Elf might fall in a river, or a Ranger might stub his toe. Of course, Dwarves alway have Khuzdul...which sounds like cussing even if all they're saying is "have a nice day," LOL!
