Hi everyone!

I've had a fantastic "birthday week"!

First of all, I'd like to thank all my online friends for the good wishes and greetings! Kaylee Arafinwiel wrote me an adorable story; she sent it to me in a private email, but as soon as she archives it, I'll post a link. I had lovely e-cards from [livejournal.com profile] lindahoyland, [livejournal.com profile] pearltook1, [livejournal.com profile] rhapsody11, and [livejournal.com profile] mumstheword. And I can't forget all the LJ birthday greetings from [livejournal.com profile] ellynn_ithilwen,[livejournal.com profile] shirebound [livejournal.com profile] febobe, [livejournal.com profile] mews1945, [livejournal.com profile] claudia603, [livejournal.com profile] cairistiona7, [livejournal.com profile] lilybaggins,[livejournal.com profile] harrowcatliz, [livejournal.com profile] ramblin_rosie, [livejournal.com profile] lily_the_hobbit, [livejournal.com profile] addie71, [livejournal.com profile] pandemonium_213, [livejournal.com profile] gamgeefest and [livejournal.com profile] i_o_r_h_a_e_l. I hope I have found everyone after scrolling back through the last 6 days; if I missed you please, thank you anyhow.

And I also had lots of nice Facebook birthday wishes from some of my SCA friends in Seleone, and from some of my kinfolk! More neat stuff behind the cut:

The DH and I had postponed my b'day celebration until this evening. Since he has to work on the weekend we had to postpone it anyhow, so we thought we might as well wait until payday! We had a fun day in Stillwater: had a snack at a donut shop, picked up a few bargains at Big Lots, and the DH gave me a JoAnn's Gift Card (what I asked for, actually), and we also went to the library. This evening we went out to dinner at a local steakhouse, and our son joined us. We had fried green beans, and I had a nice rib-eye, baked potato and salad, and we got coconut creme pie to bring home for dessert. My son also gave me a gift card and a cute little b'day card, and he surprised both of us by picking up the tab for dinner! He's a good kid (if you can call a 35 year old a kid. He's our kid, anyhow!)

But the neatest thing that happened today was not birthday related. The Corridor came out today, and the editor showed up in person to bring me four copies, plus a nice check!

So: here is a pic of the article as it appears in the magazine:

And a close up of my byline and my pic.

The picture of the finished project had to be cut, because of the ad, so here it is. I think it turned out rather well, LOL!

The best part is, J. says that I retain my copyright. So I can post the article online if I want. I will wait a month, since the magazine is in circulation right now, and then I will post it.

Now I have to get to work on my August project. I know what I want to make, but have not had the chance to work on it yet. OTOH, I already have nearly completed my September project!

Oh, and here's one more pic: the garden haul for this morning:

And thank goodness I found some good instructions for freezing eggplant.

Again, to all my LJ friends: ((((((squishy hugs and thanks)))))!!
