I'm going to have to look at the step-by-step you posted. I really would love to learn someting crafty. I'm just not the talented type. At least not in that area, not that I know of.

Date: 2007-08-22 02:05 pm (UTC)There is a book: "Painting Houses, Cottages and Towns on Rocks" by Lin Wellford. I simply adapted her techniques to make them appropriate for hobits: round doors and windows, and for the smials, painting the roofs green and adding flowers on top, instead of using yellow and brown to simulate thatch (the way I did for Crickhollow, for example). You can probably find the book in the "how-to" section of your local library!
