Happy Holidays!
Dec. 25th, 2007 11:37 amAh, I'm surfacing now after a very hectic pre-holiday rush, to say:
Merry Christmas, or other winter holiday of your choice!
I'm finally relaxing this morning--I had so many last minute things to finish, not least of which was my Yule Exchange Fic for
pearl_took1 in the LOTR GFics yahoo!group. However, I got it done just barely in time.
I finished my Christmas sewing, but not my knitting. And I finally got all my cards out, though I doubt if any of them arrived before Christmas!
And I have just one thing I have to share:
At the Sunday morning service, the Children's director called all the kids up for their usual little "Children's moment". She asked them if they knew what Christmas was, and of course, all of them chorused "Jesus' birthday!"
Then she asked them what they thought Jesus would like to have for His birthday. Several hands shot up, and there were the predictable answers: "to be good", "to love Him", "to go to church", etc. Then she came to this one little boy. "And what do *you* think Jesus would want for His birthday?" Without hesitation, and loud and clear he said:
"Barbecue!" LOLOL!

Date: 2007-12-25 06:13 pm (UTC)BBQ. One time at Yom Kippur services, our rabbi asked the kids what they were sorry for. Six "I am sorry for hitting my sister"'s later, the next kid says "I'm sorry for flushing my sister's goldfish down the toilet when it wasn't dead yet." The congregation did NOT manage to keep from laughing that time. :)
