Bummer

Got home to find a message on my machine from one of my first cousins. Another cousin (her older sister) passed away this morning. Not so jolly. Try to call her back, and get *her* machine. Went out for supper, and of course, she had left another message for me, time of viewing, funeral, etc. And asking me to break the news to my mother, sister and brother.

We went to the nursing home to tell my mother, and I was relieved at how she took it. Not so hard as I had feared. Talked to my sister, but have not gotten hold of my brother yet.

DH is going to try and take off Tues. so we can go to the funeral. Means getting up about 3AM to head out for the long drive to Florida, and then come right back after the funeral, so he can work the next day. *whoosh* Not looking forward to that.

I was fond of this cousin, but not especially close. However, I have always been very close to the cousin who called, and to their younger sister, so I am going to the funeral (if DH can get the day off) for their sakes' mostly.

I hate funerals.

I'm not good with funerals either. No one is really. Hope you're able to go for your cousin's sake.

I know. I'm sure my cousins will appreciate me being there if I can. And my sister is going to try to be there as well.
