Homesick

I am so homesick for my old SCA home, the Barony of Seleone! I got the wonderful news that two of my friends, Syr Loric Silvestrus and Mistress Diana of the Isles, have at long last achieved their goal.

They are the new heirs of the Kingdom of Gleann Abhann.


Loric has been fighting to make Diana a queen, well, as long as I have known them, and I am so sad that I cannot be there in Seleone to see all of the excitement and joy of celebration, as the Barony has its first Royal Peers.

Syr Loric was also the first Knight to be made in Seleone, and he was to me the true embodiment of SCA Chivalry and Honor. And Diana has been in the SCA since she was 3 years old, and is a warm and honest person with a long history of service to Seleone, the Kingdoms and the Society. That they have at long last achieved their Quest makes me so very proud and happy for them.

I SO wish I could be there for them now!

Ohhh, how you must miss them! You really poured a lot of love and energy into your SCA experiences.

I really did, and I miss it so much. Because of distance and finances, I have yet to really get involved since we moved; but even so, it's not quite the same anyway--I will probably always think of Seleone as "home".

oh wow. I have to admit I don't know very much about SCA, but it always looked like a lot of fun and dedication. Too bad they don't have one for Middle-earth, yes? :)

*grin* The SCA owes as much to its early beginnings to LotR as it does to medieval history! Some of the earliest founding members became famous fantasy authors (Diana Paxson, Katherine Kurtz, Poul Anderson, Gordon Dickson to name a few).

Crown Tournaments are fought every six months. Loric has fought in over 40 of them, always bearing Diana's favor.
