The MEFAs

Well, the 2008 MEFAs are ended! There were 5,397 reviews this year! I did not set a "junkie" goal this year, but I did post 232 reviews, which is down quite a few from previous years, and I had far too many stories left on my "wish list"--too many RL interruptions this time around, I guess.

It's so fun to see stories I love get some well-deserved recognition! Even those stories that don't win anything get some nice reviews and some exposure! That's why I love nominating them. I'm already at work on a list of nominees for next year!

Understandable! I haven't even listened to the posts from last month--there's something wonky-sounding with the speakers since I got a new computer, and I haven't been able to figure it out yet. All of my sound sounds tinny and echoey. *sigh*

I did not find time to read/review as much as I wanted this year. (Par for the course.) Thank you for your lovely reviews.

One of the great things about the MEFAs is the great reading list it generates--when I have a tiny bit of free time, not enough for writing but perhaps time to read a chapter or two, I can go there and find lots to choose from!

(I feel a bit of a fraud, being co-nominated for "Pip-napped"--you did all the hard work and all I did was give you a bunny to feed...)

But you did get in quite a few reviews--I know, for I read them! And they were very good!

I didn't set a goal this year because I forgot to before the deadline, but mentally I had thought "300", which I thought was safe, because even the year of Katrina I did 500. But I just didn't manage it this year.

I was very excited when I saw that you had nommed "On Amon Sul", because that story had sort of been an experiment on my part, using a tighter POV, and then experimenting with the font--so I was pleased when it turned out well!

I didn't get to review nearly everything that I meant to but from what I have heard on LJ, lots of my favorites won.

I really enjoyed just sitting back and reviewing when I could and now I am enjoying congratulating the winners. It's fun to be in the cheering section. I may just stay here again next year. Winning is fun but so is congratulating others.
