Nope. Not just you. I have one room in my house that floods all the time, and the last couple of times, it's gone into a couple of other rooms as well.
We've been discussing that. We've tried something similar before, but that was several years ago. It temporarily alleviated the problem. (Cut the flooding back to about twice a year for two or three years.)
