Very sad news!

I know that some of you on my flist know Pipkin Sweetgrass, aka thebeecharmer, who's known for her wonderful stories about Boromir, Pippin and Merry, especially her lovely AU, "The Beecharmer".

She's a lovely person-- I got to meet her in person at ScotMoot in 2007. Since then, she's had several problems in RL, especially with both her own health and that of her husband.

I got this e-mail today from pearltook1, who also knows her in RL. I substituted fandom names for the real ones, as I don't know how many of you know her personally.

"I don't know if you all have heard -

[Pipkin]'s husband passed away this morning (Tuesday 30th) at 2:00AM.

[her husband] lost his battle with his failing liver. He was delirious early Sunday morning, [She] called the ambulance for him, and his condition steadily deteriorated from there.

He will be cremated and his ashes scattered on the ocean off the Georgia coast. His memorial service is this Friday (April 2nd) at 2:00PM at the [local] Funeral Home in [their hometown].

[Pipkin] is also recovering from a knee replacement that she had done last week Monday.

Her son and his family are with her."

Those of you who know her may wish to send prayers and good thoughts in her direction.

I don't know her at all, but I'm sending my thoughts and prayers to her and her family. So sad!

She's such a sweet and gentle person, with a delightful sense of humor. I know she is devastated about this-- what an understatement!

If you are ever in the mood for reading some more LotR fic, you could do worse than her stories-- they focus on the interspecies friendship of Boromir, Pippin and Merry.

There is an obit for her husband posted on her FB. I'll email it to you and then you'll have it in case you aren't on FB. If you are, then you can just delete the email. FB was how I found out about it.
So very sad. She loved him dearly.

Her story speaks to a person of great sensitivity and insight; I do not have the pleasure of knowing her, but am sending wishes for strength and comfort nonetheless. What a very sad loss for her.
