Sugar

I'd only mentioned it in a filtered post before, but last Thursday we had to take Sugar to the vet and we did not bring her home. She had been having pain in her legs, and suddenly could not get up and walk.

Anyway, here is the last picture I took of her:

On the front deck This is the last picture I took of Sugar. She and the DH are sitting on our front deck. That's our neighbor's cat Olivia on the DH's other side. I took this picture the day after Halloween, when he was taking down our decorations, and I took it through the screen of our porch, which is why it's kind of dark.

We decided that it was too soon to get another dog, but we also decided that we needed a furbaby (we've never been without at least one pet before), and that it's been too long since we had a kitty. (Ten years, in fact.) After looking for a few days, we've found a little girl kitty who needs a good home, and we will be picking her up tomorrow!

I'm so sorry to hear about Sugar. In a way, I felt I knew her through your posts. She always sounded like a darling doggie. I know you will miss her something fierce. It's very hard to lose a family member.

I'm glad you've decided to share your home with another animal. Can't wait to see photos of your new baby. Good for you too for getting one that needed a home. So many animals do these days.

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry about Sugar, but I'm glad you are getting a new little furry companion, and especially a kitty! Kitties are all kinds of furry love, aren't they? :) I know she'll never take Sugar's place in your heart, but maybe there's room for a special corner just for this little soul. :) Maybe she can help bring you furry comfort.

I'm so sorry your sweet Sugar isn't with you anymore. Thanks for posting the beautiful picture of her. She looks a little bit like our old family dog from the 70s, Franz. It is so hard to lose our pets; they are more than animals in our care, they are our companions, our friends, our babies, our family. When they go, they take part of us with them.

I'm so glad you have decided to bring a new baby into your home; your new little kitty is one lucky girl. I hope she will fill your home with laughter and love for many years.

Oh, Barbara, I'm so sorry to hear about Sugar. Even after nine years I miss my dear Sandy. But he often comes to visit me in my dreams, especially when I need him, and I'm sure your dear Sugar will also. That is such a wonderful photo, as so many have mentioned. The love between both of them just radiates.

Enjoy your sweet new little kitty. As someone else mentioned (sorry, don't remember who) nothing is more fun and silly than a kitten. I'm happy you found a new 4-footed friend you can give your hearts to.
