Now we have TWO furbabies!

Last night the DH was surfing the websites of some of the OK animal shelters, and he found this little lady.

We drove over to check her out, and couldn't resist bringing her home. She's very alert and active, but quiet-- she hasn't barked at all yet.

Miss Belladonna Took is not impressed. She has retreated to her high spots and is keeping surveillance over the intruder. I think that eventually they will get along, though, as our new baby seems very good-natured.

We changed her name to "Sophie". The name for her at the shelter was just a name they gave her, since she was brought in as a stray, so she hasn't really had time to get used to it yet.

I don't know how long the picture and info will be up at the website, since she is no longer available for adoption. But as soon as I get the chance I will take and upload some pics.

Oh what a lovely addition to your family. I am sure she will soon settle in. We have just had a story about a microchipped pet dog found on a bus and returned to her rightful caters after five years!

Congrats! I think the name "Sophie" suits her better, at least her appearance. She's too dark to be an Anika.

awww...what a sweetie!!! I hope Miss Took gets to accept her soon. They're coming into the household at around the same time, so maybe they will feel territorial together instead of against each other! One year for our birthdays my sister got a puppy and I got a kitten (only 6 weeks apart). They grew up the best of buds! :)

Pippin was so quiet for the first couple of weeks, I was afraid she had no voice at all. Once she got more used to her new life with me, her voice appeared. :)

I got here too late. The photo is gone so I'll have to wait on the photos you take once you have time. Congratulations on another new baby. It's always so exciting when you bring home a new family member. I'm sure Miss Took will adjust once she gets used to the new one. Can't wait to see the photos. : )
