Tonight my DH and I went to Pass Christian, where we had been invited to hear
coneygoil's father and uncle sing, and have some catfish. There is a small retreat there where they hold a school for the Gospel Singers of America, and the catfish dinner was a benefit.
Nina had mentioned how great her family's catfish recipe was, and let me tell you she was not exaggerating. That was some of the best catfish I have ever eaten: all flakey and moist inside, and crunchy and flavorful on the outside, and not too spicy! Yummmm...
Then we listened to her father and uncle play and sing for a while, and her dad coaxed her up there to sing a couple of songs as well. She has a lovely voice, and I was so proud to hear how well she sang!
The DH enjoyed himself thoroughly, and as they are planning to make these fundraisers a weekly occurrence we will probably go back for more!
In other news, I got fifteen more rows knitted on the Pippin-scarf. If you are on PippinHealers, don't forget that you have to contribute to the Round Robin to get a chance at it when it's finished!!
