Hurricane Katrina Pictures
Dec. 14th, 2005 02:28 pmThanks to the combined efforts of
danachan who finally managed to sort things out and get them posted for me, and to
grey_wonderer who got them onto Photobucket for me, I am finally able to show everyone these pictures from Hurricane Katrina...
The first seven pictures are my yard the day after the storm...

The seventh picture is my holly tree. It was propped up, and hasn't died yet, though it still leans at about a 45 degree angle...

The next three were taken a few days later...

...backyard...

marigoldg's Mom...

...the three guys in the background are my Marine "angels"...

...Backyard again...

...More pics of my "angels" at work...

...couple of me, standing next to the rootball of my Sycamore tree...

...the day the bobcat came to clear away the rootballs...

...my friend, Lady E.'s home...

...and across the street from her house, there is a view of the harbor; there used to be a lawyer's office in the way...

...her next door neighbor...

...her church...

...this is the McDonald's that was just across the street from her; the curved area is where the drive-thru was...

...the bookstore behind the lawyer's office...

...some pics of us sifting through her rubble...

...across the street on the other side; the building looks all right, but it was completely gutted on the inside...

...and a couple of more shots of the view from her place...

At any rate, the workers finally arrived at about 12:30; it remains to be seen how much they will accomplish today, but I feel a little bit more hopeful now...
