More hurricane stuff

dreamflowerWell, Rita finished off what Katrina started. The holly is down again. I don't think it will be possible to get it up again, but we may give it a try, *sigh*.
And something scary in the news tonight reminded me of something that happened after the storm that I didn't post in my diary...
The news that 3,000 registered sex offenders from N.O. are scattered around the country with no way to track them down easily is creepy.
Almost as creepy as this: when my sweet Marines were cleaning up my yard, they found this funny looking device, and showed it to me. I didn't know what it was until they enlightened me.
It was an ankle bracelet for house arrest, that had been cut off. One of the Marines advised that we turn it over to the cops, as it had an identifying number on it, which we did. But still...
