Dreamflower's Mathom-house

Well, we just got the good word from our realtor in MS! The house just closed! Now we have to wait until tomorrow before the deposit hits our bank, as the closing wasn't finished until after banking hours.

Then, Wed. at 1:30, we will close on *this* house, and will officially be homeowners once more!

My own, my very own Precious is back, and it works! (((hugs computer tightly)))

The DH spent all afternoon putting it back together, and getting it online for me! Isn't he wonderful?

After a long cold day of unpacking boxes, we are just not going to make it to midnight! So Happy New Year everyone!!

At the internet cafe again! I tried the library earlier this AM, but all the computers were being used by kids out for Christmas break. So I got the DH to bring me up here this evening.

I've skimmed my flist, and commented on a few fics, but I haven't done much other commenting, as my time's ticking away, and I need to try to get some email done.

I'm at the library today, so not so much time to be online. I am skimming my flist when I can, and will try to comment when I have a bit more time.

Here's the internet situation: The DH was going to try and hook up our new DSL to his laptop for me, only to discover that none of the phone jacks are functional. The one phone in the house is an old one, and seems to be wired directly into the line! It must be 25-30 years old. As for cable, that's not hooked up yet, and if it does get hooked up, it will do no good, as we have yet to find the box the packers put my computer in. Seems they were *very* fond of marking boxes "misc." which is of no use when you are trying to find something specific. It took us three days to find the workings for our bed (we have one of those "Sleep-matic" ones)! It was in a box with stuff from the kitchen, of all things, and marked miscellaneaous of course!

So for the time being, I'll be popping in at either the library or the internet cafe to check on things! danachan has been ever so kind about posting my holiday fic for me. Big huggses and squeezes for her! I *am* working on my Challenge 35 fic and Road to Edoras by hand, and hope to get a chance to type them in soon.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a lovely Holiday--we had a nice quiet one, very cozy! and I will check in again when I get the chance!

Hi everyone! I've dropped in at the internet cafe to check my email and to skim my flist! I'm hoping to get hooked up at the new house by the 28th, though it *might* be sooner.

Moving is very hectic! I miss hobbits, and I miss y'all!

but I think the sooner we're able to be together again, the better.

He told me of an amazing discovery he made. Seems he wanted cheese toast for breakfast. So he lay the toaster on it's side, and--yes, yes, he did (go ahead, laugh!)--he put the bread and cheese in the toaster. I kid you not, LOL! He said it seemed like a good idea at the time, but when the smoke started to come out, he pulled the plug... *facepalm*
